Isononanoic acid (INA) is an isomeric compound of formula
C₉H₁₈O₂ that serves various purposes. It is a colorless liquid that dissolves in organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, and benzene. Isononanoic acid is used in the production of various chemicals, including esters, plasticizers, and lubricants. It is also used as a raw material in the production of coatings, adhesives, and inks.
