The Carboxylic Fatty Acids

Carboxylic acids are any class of organic compounds that contain a carboxyl group [-C(=O)OH]. They are proton donors and form the common type of organic acids. They widely occur in nature and include amino acids, oils or fats derived from plants or animals. Carboxylic acids have diverse applications including, but not limited to the production of lubricant, metal soaps, surfactants, coatings, corrosion inhibition in coolants, PVC stabilizers, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.

2-Ethylhexanoic acid is a colorless, high boiling liquid and with a faint odor. The metallic salts of 2-ethylhexanoic acid are used as driers for odorless paints, inks, varnishes, and enamels. Cobalt and manganese are the most important drivers. Synonym: 2-EHA, 2 EH acid, 2-Ethyl hexanoic acid,  Octanoic acid

Isononanoic acid is a colorless, high boiling liquid. It`s used as Neopolyol esters applied as lubricants, intermediate for metal salt, PVC plasticizer, detergent, alkyd resin acid chloride. It`s similar with 3,5,5-trimethylhexanoic acid(CAS: 3302-10-1), but not totally the same in few applications.

2-Propylheptanoic acid (Isodecanoic acid) is a specialty chemicals for lubricant industry, especially as additive in metal working.
